Matt Thorley

Matt manages Launcelot’s back-office operations and oversees the residential and long leaseholder portfolio. Matt has broad responsibilities within the company which include ensuring operational efficiency, managing risk, driving growth, engaging with shareholders and other key third party providers and promoting sustainability within the company. This provides resilience to the business, enabling it to succeed in a competitive and ever-changing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Matt first started working at Launcelot in 2012 having worked in family offices since 2006. His wide-ranging responsibilities include supervising cash flow and accounts, managing insurance policies, overseeing residential letting strategies, ensuring legal compliance and driving ESG initiatives. He is also responsible for all Joint Ventures including all legal paperwork, accounting, reporting and investor correspondence and engagement.
He oversees the equity, private equity and lending portfolio, which includes the structuring, monitoring and exiting of these deals, playing a pivotal role in the company’s financial strategy. He is responsible for day-to-day cash management ensuring that the company maintains optimal liquidity levels. His oversight of the cash flow involves forecasting, budgeting and ensuring that sufficient working capital is available to meet the company’s financial obligations. This, combined with his expertise in investment and finance, ensures financial stability and enables the business to grow.
Background
Matt graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2005. He a School Governor and a Trustee of Hammersmith & Fulham Volunteer Centre. He was previously a Hammersmith & Fulham Councillor, where he was Chair of the Licensing and then Planning Committee. Previously he was a Trustee of the Lyric Theatre Hammersmith and the Brightwells Academy Trust.
